In the spirit of PSC's very important upcoming webinars that focus on Diversity & Inclusion, I wanted to share some interesting stats and a timely article that was shared with me.
I learned that feelings of exclusion lead to a significant drop in IQ (a study that was referenced suggested a drop of 15 points) and your brain receptors interpret feelings of exclusion as "physical pain".

Ensure employees have equal access to technology for remote work.
Make virtual meetings equitable - turn on CC, send documents in advance, collect input in advance.
Begin meetings with acknowledging everyone in the room.
Understand how bias may show up.
Check in with employees who may be disproportionately impacted by the crisis.
I also was challenged to provide my definition of "inclusion". I defined it as "having a seat at the table".
