Anyone know any good RFP tools that work with Excel
Most of our RFPs require completion in Excel and our current tool doesn't like Excel which is a bad combo! Has anyone got any tools they recommend that can auto fill in RFP into Excel.
Hi Sam, Avnio allows you to drag excel files in and auto populates answers from the Intelligent Library which is built up of previous RFPs, URLs other knowledge in Excel Files, PDfs, Word Docs etc. Please reach out if you would like to discuss.
Take a look at Loopio. Very easy to load excel questionnaires, match to different question types (free answer vs drop down selection, for example) and complete the questionnaire using a question library that you build up over time. You can then export back to original source excel sheet. Also has some good workflows for project collaboration, assignment, etc.
Hi Sam,
Recommend you to try out RFPIO, a leader in this space. You can seamlessly import your excel, auto-fill responses and export the responses within no time. Moreover, you can quantify the effort put into the RFP and calculate the ROI if needed. This is a tool that is trusted by major brands around the world. Feel free to schedule a demo from here.
I've used both Loopio and RFPIO successfully with Excel. Beyond the ability to import/export successfully, I would also recommend diving into understanding how the answer repository works in regards to recommended answers, flagging duplicates, and workflows for answers and approvals. Depending on the complexity of how you currently triage RFP work, ensuring these capabilities work well for your business can save a lot of time and ensure accurate responses.
@Adam Lazzara Both had their pros and cons - the instance of Loopio I used was better maintained than RFPIO, so it isn't really a fair comparison. I thought the answer workflow/collaboration/review process was more seamless in Loopio, but the import/export was easier in RFPIO (specifically, Excel - other formats could be pretty gnarly in both systems). I also used Loopio several years ago, so I can't speak to recent enhancements - we used RFPIO at my last company. Another note is we didn't host any standard docs (ie: infosec) in the repository, so that was a fragmented process to include those as part of the responses. Personally, I would invest first in the actual question and answers themselves to ensure accuracy and close any gaps.
Not an easy project, but clear ROI. Garbage in, garbage out (figuratively, of course!) Happy to chat offline!
@Adam Lazzara -- using RFPIO right now and overall a big fan. I compared Loopio vs. RFPIO at Spredfast right before leaving, and ended up selecting RFPIO due to their pricing model and relative parity on feature sets. RFPIO was already in place when I joined Dynamic Signal, but would agree with @Hannah Bloking that the answer database maintenance is a big key to the effectiveness of each tool. If you already have a solid database in Loopio, might be worth a closer comparison, especially if you're looking to save a few bucks. Feel free to ping me offline if you have more specific questions.
I implemented Loopio at Gympass after evaluating RFPIO and a few other tools. I found RFPIO to be a little complex for a team of 7, but I used it at Salesforce and liked it. Both had good Excel compatibility. Loopio customer success was dynamite.
I also reviewed some startups with similar tools, which have likely matured since I last saw them: HyperComply.com and Xoro.ai
Yes, Ombud works really well - I love it, my team love it - saves us loads of time and helps get RFPs out the door accurately and easily.
I agree here with the Ombud recommendation. We use that extensively and it has branched out far past just RFP responses.
We love Ombud at Pendo!!!! Works great with Excel and their support is top notch.

Yes Loopio is a tool I have used and simple to work with and the library is very useful for searching information

Hannah, what did you think of RFPIO compared to Loopio? I am using Loopio today but the RFPIO people are after me big time.

Thanks CB, sounds like the key here is the database and that either solutions would prove valuable. Appreciate the insight!
