Description

RK Logistics Group is seeking an energetic and knowledgeable Director of Pharma Business Development. As the Director of Pharma Business Development, your primary responsibility is to drive revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with potential clients, and converting leads into customers. You will play a crucial role in expanding the company's market presence, meeting sales targets, and contributing to overall business success. This role will report to the VP of Business Development, focusing on our pharmaceutical 3PL footprint. The ideal candidate will have experience in pharmaceutical third-party logistics (3PL) and a deep understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturers and brands, both domestic and international.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Identify and research potential clients and markets within the pharmaceutical industry  
  • Leverage expertise in storage and handling requirements for controlled substances to develop and present compelling sales proposals that highlight compliance and operational efficiency benefits  
  • Generate leads through various channels such as cold calling, email outreach, networking events, and social media platforms  
  • Utilize sales and marketing tools to identify and qualify prospects  
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with prospects, key decision-makers, and stakeholders  
  • Conduct meetings, presentations, and product demonstrations to showcase the company's offerings  
  • Understand clients' needs, challenges, and objectives to propose tailored solutions  
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve targets and maximize revenue  
  • Manage sales pipelines efficiently, from lead generation to closure  
  • Track and report on sales metrics, activities, and outcomes using CRM systems  
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with clients to ensure mutually beneficial agreements  
  • Overcome objections and address concerns to facilitate deal closure  
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding and delivery processes  
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities  
  • Provide feedback to the marketing and product teams to refine offerings and improve market positioning  
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and innovation

Qualifications And Skills Needed

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Supply Chain management or related field (preferred)  
  • 3-5 years of experience in pharmaceutical 3PL sales  
  • Proven record of accomplishments and success in pharmaceutical 3PL sales  
  • Deep understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturers and brands, both domestic and international  
  • Extensive knowledge of storage and handling requirements for controlled substances  
  • Familiarity with system requirements and their application in managing storage and fulfillment processes  
  • Strong knowledge of DEA and FDA regulations for storage and handling  
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills  
  • Strong networking abilities and relationship-building skills  
  • Goal-oriented mindset with a drive to exceed targets and deliver results  
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment  
  • Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other sales tools
