About the Job

The Distribution Sales Director is a crucial role, responsible for restructuring our selling system to increase sales and revenue growth within Trina’s distribution channel. Primary activity includes building, planning, and strategizing while combating challenges of the Renewable Energy industry. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader, visionary, bringing new selling ideas, have a strong background in Renewable Energy and has existing relationships in the distribution, installer, EPC and solar investor communities. 

What you’ll be doing 

  • Create and implement sales and revenue growth strategies and programs.
  • Provide new and creative ideas to grow Trina Solar products.
  • Develop product and pricing plans to increase sales volume.
  • Meet or exceed all sales revenue, pricing and inventory management objectives.
  • Determine long term plan to add new channels which maximize market presence while minimizing geographic overlap and channel conflict.
  • Identify potential new partners, initiate and develop business relationships and negotiate multi- year contracts. Identify and consider potentially new or alternate channels and routes to market.
  • Develop strategic knowledge of competitive distribution networks, products, pricing and tactics.
  • Contribute to the design, development and implementation of the company’s quarterly and annual sales plan.
  • Monitor pre and post sales service and quality metrics and work with back-office departments to ensure order execution, on-time delivery and customer payments.
  • Maintain required reporting and develop new metrics to better understand and maximize the channel.
  • Master knowledge of Trina’s products, company profile and market strategy.
  • Represent the company in local and national exhibitions and conferences.
  • Stay up to date with market information, including competitors and customers benchmarking and technical and financial market requirements. Maintain an in depth understanding of the distribution industry and its members.

Your Qualifications

  • BS Degree in Business Administration, Organizational Leadership or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience and success selling in the renewable energy industry.
  • Must have experience in residential solar market, and who the financial investors are.
  • Understanding of current political events affecting solar and manufacturing.
  • Proven record of delivering results with solid teamworkand leadership skills.
  • Demonstratethe ability to leveragepersonal and internal resources to manage the growthof sales and customer relationships.
  • Previous experience communicating and collaborating with C-level executives, front line sales and back-officeteam.
  • Strong planning, negotiation, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated, quick thinker, proactive, and passionate for customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Passion for the Renewable Energy industry.

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, education, skills, and experience. Additional discretionary incentive may be available. Full-time employees are eligible for PTO, medical, dental and vision coverage, 401(k) plan and flexible spending accounts, subject to plan terms.
