Senior Sales Engineer
JOB OVERVIEW:
This remote role focuses on technical consultative sales for medium to large-sized manufacturers. The Sales Engineer specializes in long-cycle sales within customized and engineered solutions in highly competitive markets. Success in this role depends on qualifying and closing new opportunities through a value-based sales process, while engaging with senior managers to drive business growth.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- ### Consultative Sales & Negotiation: Guide clients in selecting optimal solutions by balancing cost, function, and benefit, handling objections, and negotiating strategically.
- ### Customer Pain Points & Solutions: Analyze client needs and develop tailored solutions that ensure successful sales.
- ### Revenue Forecasting & Sales Strategy: Create quarterly revenue forecasts and implement annual strategic sales plans with tactical goals to hit targets.
- ### Technical Expertise: Provide engineering and product knowledge, ensuring seamless execution of custom programs within budget and timeline constraints.
- ### Extended Sales Cycle Management: Engage key decision-makers in management, engineering, and purchasing, ensuring successful deal closure.
- ### Lead Qualification & Prioritization: Quickly assess lead potential, ensuring effective prioritization of sales activities.
- ### Client Support & Liaison: Answer product-related inquiries, coordinate with engineering teams for quotations, and act as the primary contact between customers and internal stakeholders for key accounts.
- ### Meeting & Documentation Management: Organize and oversee customer meetings, track agendas, minutes, and action items, and follow up on key milestones.
- ### CRM & Sales Tracking: Manage critical sales opportunities using CRM systems to set tasks and track progress.
- ### Customer Relationships & Networking: Maintain existing client relationships and actively pursue new customer acquisitions.
- ### Travel Expectations: Must travel to meet clients; 25%-30% travel required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- ### Education: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in engineering or a technical discipline.
- ### Experience: 3-5 years of consultative, value-based sales experience.
- ### Industry Expertise: Knowledge of consumer electrical or mechanical engineering products.
- ### Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in MS Excel, Outlook, Word, CRM, and ERP systems.
- ### Relationship Management: Strong client-focused communication and negotiation skills.
- ### Preferred Industry Experience: Aerospace/Defense, Electrical Transmission & Distribution, and Semiconductor Equipment (not required but beneficial).
