Position Overview:

As a Solutions and Database Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing scalable solutions for our "Take Everywhere" program and other key initiatives. This is a dynamic role that requires a mix of technical expertise, big-picture thinking, and the ability to drive cross-functional collaboration. You will be responsible for automating workflows, creating database solutions, and leveraging innovative technologies to streamline processes across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Automation and Workflow Development:
• Design and implement automated solutions for the "Take Everywhere" process, managing data flow from student information to printed book delivery.
• Develop innovative approaches to integrate systems such as Netsuite for warehouse fulfillment or other third-party printing solutions.
• Database Design and Implementation:
• Architect and maintain databases to support personalized book customization and delivery.
• Analyze and evaluate different tech stacks and recommend the best solutions for scalability and efficiency.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Work closely with multiple departments to identify process bottlenecks and opportunities for optimization.
• Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strategic Innovation:
• Leverage emerging technologies, including AI, to enhance operational efficiency and improve outcomes.
• Provide thought leadership on database and system design to support organizational growth.
• UI/Front-End Flow Understanding:
• Collaborate with front-end developers to ensure smooth integration of user interfaces with back-end systems.

Qualifications:

• Experience:
• 8–10 years of overall engineering experience, with a strong focus on database design and automation.
• Proven success working in a startup environment and building scalable, cross-organizational solutions.
• Experience with video applications and front-end integration.
• Technical Skills:
• Expertise in database technologies and creating database solutions.
• Familiarity with AI tools and applications is highly desirable.
• Experience with Netsuite or other fulfillment systems is a plus.
