Data Centre - Solutions Engineer

Are you looking for a client facing role where you can be a trusted technical advisor for major Global clients, responsible for pre-sales engineering and fit-out project implementation?  

We’re recruiting on behalf of one of our key clients to expand their Solutions team in Italy, supporting the wider EMEA business as they expand their European portfolio of facilities. Full details below:

Tasks:  

• Support EMEA Teams in technical qualification and development of opportunities  
• Coordinate with the development and construction teams to meet client specifications.  
• Own the technical relationship from presales through delivery on all incoming sales opportunities.  
• Be the “Technical Lead” - fielding Data Hall Fit Out solutions to meet client requirements.  
• Design the preliminary client solution.  
• Manage and direct communication from internal and external stakeholders.  
• Improve client engagement and articulate complex solutions.  
• Lead technical tours and sales presentations.  
• Lead Technical response to RFPs and RFIs.  
• Develop and maintain critical professional relationships with end-users, consultants, vendors, telco providers, and contractors within the data centre market.  
• Work closely with internal colleagues to ensure local consistent implementation of standards and processes.

Job practicalities / Skills and qualifications:  

• Deep understanding of data centre infrastructure design and construction techniques, operational requirements and challenges, data hall fit-out projects, equipment and technology advances and general industry trends.  
• Strong knowledge of the technical sales process and working with technical buyers and site selection teams for hyperscale and large enterprise data centre users.  
• Has the capability to determine electrical, mechanical, security, and communications related data centre scope requirements, solutions, and construction requirements.  
• Significant experience providing technical sales and/or managing data hall fit out projects at a commercial wholesale colocation data centre provider.  
• Able to prioritize workload and attention in a rapidly changing environment.  
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a related engineering discipline.
