About The Role

This particular business analyst position reports directly to Placer.ai’s chief operating officer, working closely with the COO to tackle any business or operational problem. As a business analyst, you will create financial models and presentations to support strategic, operational, and business decisions across multiple information systems and departments. You will conduct business and market research on a wide variety of topics such as target lists of potential acquisitions and partnerships, the latest trends and innovations in the data privacy space, and people intelligence about prospective new partners or senior hires. The ideal candidate is a motivated, growth-minded, organized self-starter with strong analytical and presentation skills who can thrive with little structure and supervision.

Responsibilities

• Build spreadsheets and models to identify data-driven business insights.
• Perform online research on anything from potential acquisition (M&A), through potential partners and customers, to data or IT vendors, best practices, policies, etc.
• Build intelligent, sleek business decks and BI dashboards.
• Effectively communicate cross-functionally.
• Support the Chief Operating Officer with any business task.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, accounting or a similar quantitative business degree.
• At least three years of working experience at a fast-paced, high-expectations business environment, such as an investment banking firm, a consulting firm, a tech company, etc.
• Excellence in building financial models and customer-facing presentations.
• Organizational skills.
• Tech-savvy, fast-learner.
• Sound judgment.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently in a distributed team setting.
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills in English.
• Ability to juggle many balls in the air.
• Growth mindset, good work ethics, and a strong ambition to learn and grow.
