The PreSales Leadership Collective was founded in February of this year. And in this short time, our engaged and active members have been helping us blaze this new trail together. We think it’s been a great success, and we have some exciting things to come as well. In our recent PreSales Leadership Collective Executive Summit, we walked through the future vision for the PreSales Leadership Collective with:

Kevin Mefford, Head of Community at PreSales Collective

What PSLC Accomplished This Year

We’ve done a lot in less than a year. The PreSales Leadership Collective has grown to over 300 members. And we’ve hosted 25 roundtables and added in fireside chats and member workshops, plus put on 2 virtual hiring events and 4 leadership events including this one.

We also created 20+ playbooks, templates, guidebooks, etc. and shared them amongst the PreSales Leadership Collective community. It’s all part of the PreSales culture - we love to collaborate, help each other out, and build up the profession as a whole. And none of it would have been possible without our members.

What’s the Path Ahead?

There are a few key plans for 2022 and beyond that we want to highlight.

Building more micro communities. Right now, the PreSales Leadership Collective is almost entirely based and conducted in English even though we have PreSales leaders across the globe. We’re looking to change this up to increase access, and we also want to create and support more local chapters. You’ll see more efforts to connect you with people in similar industries who are going through similar stages of company growth as you, to offer additional support and networking.

Doing more in-person events. Of course, we’re still in a pandemic and in-person events aren’t completely back to normal. But as things open up, we’ve already done a few in-person networking events, and we’re going to be adding more of those next year. Kevin, James, and Yuji are really looking forward to getting on the road again - those direct connections are just so powerful and can’t entirely be replicated with Zoom. Look for live networking events, in-person workshops, and more celebration type events too in 2022.

Helping with hiring. Hiring is the biggest challenge for everyone in the PreSales industry right now, and it’s not going away anytime soon. We’re looking to add more virtual job fairs and build out our job board, to help you find the right people for your open roles and connect to them.

Increasing publications. We’ll be adding more white papers, blog entries, and pieces about the profession so you can do your jobs better and help your teams as well.

Increasing predictability. Part of Kevin’s new role with the PreSales Collective is to build out a predictable schedule for you. This is so you can start to plan and know when things are happening with the PreSales Leadership Collective. This goal is a tactical one but we want to emphasize it as we strive to become even more excellent.
