Role Description

We are seeking a customer-oriented and technically strong AI Solution Consultant (Solution Architect) to support Whale’s early-stage expansion in the U.S. market.

This role will work closely with Sales (AE-led direct sales motion in the early phase) to drive presales solutioning, while also taking ownership of key post-sales activities to ensure successful deployment, adoption, and value realization. You will bridge business needs and AI technology, owning customer technical engagements from discovery to go-live and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Sales and Product teams to identify customer needs and map them to AI-driven retail solutions.
  • Lead discovery sessions, solution presentations, and product demos.
  • Develop and deliver proof-of-concepts (POCs) that showcase measurable business value.
  • Act as the technical advisor during the sales cycle, addressing architecture, deployment, and integration questions.
  • Own the post-sales customer journey — onboarding, adoption, expansion, and renewal.
  • Build trusted relationships with key stakeholders and ensure customers achieve desired business outcomes.
  • Monitor solution performance and coordinate with internal teams to resolve issues or implement enhancements.
  • Translate customer feedback into actionable insights for the product and engineering teams.
  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities through a consultative, value-based approach.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in presales, solution consulting, solution architecture, or technical customer-facing roles in SaaS / AI / data-related environments.
  • Strong technical proficiency in AI, computer vision, or data analytics solutions, with the ability to design and explain architectures and demo products.
  • Solid understanding of enterprise software deployments, APIs, integrations, and cloud-based systems.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; able to translate complex technology into clear business value.
  • Fluent in English and Chinese (spoken and written).
  • Self-driven, adaptable, and comfortable working in an early-stage, fast-evolving market environment.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and Engineering teams.
