POSITION: Head of Sales Engineering
LOCATION: Remote (US)
REPORTS TO: Chief Revenue Officer
COMPENSATION: $330K - $390K OTE (80/20 Split) + Bonus + RSU + Sign-On Bonus
We are a $70M+ Access Control vendor specializing in Access Control systems. With a strong innovation culture, robust customer base, and a reputation for reliable, high-performance hardware solutions, we are positioned for continued growth and expansion in the security technology market.
The Head of Sales Engineering will lead the global Sales Engineering organization, bridging technical sales, customer engagement, and product strategy. This role requires a dynamic leader who can drive technical enablement, customer-centric engagement, and ensure alignment with the company’s commercial goals.
Key Responsibilities
This leader will directly manage approximately 6 regional solutions architects.
Strategic Leadership & Team Development
- Build and mentor a high-performing Sales Engineering team, promoting technical excellence and customer responsiveness.
- Define KPIs, incentive models, and career development pathways for managers and individual contributors.
- Foster a collaborative, innovative, and customer-first team culture.
Technical Sales Enablement
- Collaborate with Sales leadership to craft technical strategies and win narratives.
- Develop and deliver training, proof-of-concept frameworks, demo architectures, and RFP responses.
- Equip sales teams with technical tools, resources, and best practices to accelerate deal cycles.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing to provide feedback loops and influence product roadmaps.
- Translate customer and market technical insights into development priorities.
Customer & Market Engagement
- Support key enterprise and strategic deals with senior-level technical engagement.
- Represent the company at industry events and maintain executive-level customer and partner relationships.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee resource allocation, technical readiness, and escalation management.
- Standardize reporting dashboards, enablement platforms, and pre-sales processes across regions.
Qualifications:
- Proven leadership experience in Sales Engineering or similar roles within the Physical Security hardware industry (CCTV, Access Control).
- Experience managing geographically dispersed teams in organizations with $50M+ - $200M revenue.
- Strong business acumen, strategic mindset, and customer-first approach.
- Excellent communication and executive presentation skills.
