Position: Akeneo PIM Implementation Specialist

Location: Remote - working EST time zone

Duration: 12-month contract + extensions

Required Qualifications

Hands‑on experience administering and configuring Akeneo PIM.
Strong understanding of PIM best practices, workflows, taxonomy, and data governance.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, business).
Ability to translate technical capabilities into business‑friendly language for non‑technical users.
Experience working in Agile environments and participating in Scrum ceremonies.
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and educate stakeholders.
Familiarity with modern eCommerce or content platforms (e.g., ATG, Optimizely, Salesforce Commerce Cloud).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting or implementing enterprise PIM integrations.
Understanding of Akeneo AI features and value propositions.
Exposure to Bloomreach or similar digital experience platforms.
Experience in retail, eCommerce, or consumer products organizations.

Position Summary

The PIM Akeneo Implementation Specialist will serve as the organization’s Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Akeneo, providing both hands-on administration and strategic guidance to elevate Product Information Management (PIM) capabilities. This individual will work at the intersection of engineering, product, and business teams—translating business needs into effective Akeneo configurations, championing PIM best practices, and ensuring high‑quality product data governance across the enterprise.

This role requires a blend of technical expertise, cross-functional communication, and proactive problem-solving. The ideal candidate is a go‑getter who can speak the language of site merchants, enable business teams through Akeneo functionality, and support downstream integrations—especially as the organization advances into new tools like Bloomreach.

Key Responsibilities

Akeneo Ownership & Administration

Serve as the primary administrator and SME for the Akeneo platform.
Configure and maintain attributes, families, workflows, channels, locales, and user roles.
Develop and manage the enterprise data dictionary for product information.
Oversee the creation, management, and quality of product translations.
Recommend and enforce best practices for Akeneo usage across business and technical teams.
Stay current on Akeneo AI offerings and recommend areas for adoption.

Cross‑Functional Partnership

Partner closely with engineering, product, and business teams to ensure Akeneo supports operational needs and strategic goals.
Participate in Scrum of Scrums and Agile ceremonies, contributing to planning and cross-team alignment.
Sit in recurring product and business meetings to translate requirements, explain PIM capabilities, and ensure clarity across teams.
Effectively communicate with site merchants, helping them understand how Akeneo can simplify, accelerate, and improve their workflows.

Implementation & Integration Support

Support end‑to‑end PIM implementations, enhancements, and ongoing optimization.
Understand and contribute to downstream integrations involving Akeneo.
Provide guidance on integration considerations with tools similar to Bloomreach (e.g., ATG, Optimizely, Salesforce Commerce Cloud).
Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure technical feasibility, scalability, and data accuracy across platforms.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
