Job Title: Infrastructure Solutions Engineer  

Duration: 12 months with extension possible to 18 months  

Location: Plano, TX (3 days per week onsite)  

Other Approved Locations: Atlanta, GA or Plano, TX  

Pay Scale: $65-70/hr W2 (Cannot subcontract or C2C)  

Job Description:  

Matlen Silver is actively recruiting for an Infrastructure Solutions Engineer Consultant to support our financial services client's application infrastructure for the Merchant Services line of business. We are looking for a self-starter who can work independently as well as collaboratively within a global team, and successfully coordinate with multiple teams to achieve the project goals by very tight deadlines.  

Day to day activities include, but not limited to the following:  

• Leads and/or participates in the design, development, and implementation of complex system engineering activities involving cross-functional technical support, systems programming and data center capabilities.  
• Responsible for the application infrastructure architecture including high availability, load balancing, resiliency, and scalability of web infrastructure to meet corporate LOB objectives. Establishes input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility, coordination of subsystems design, and integration of total system.  
• Viewed as a technology subject matter expert; able to provide and communicate complex technology solutions across differing audiences including technical, managerial, business executives, and/or vendors.  
• Identifying technical requirements for new projects like hardware requirements, server’s operating system, authentication and authorization security, firewall connectivity, load balancer settings, DNS registrations, security severity, application dependencies, databases, and content replication  
• Manage and review project designs, requirements, workflows, and documents with the team and work closely with multiple teams for implementation.  
• Creating design documents, technical documents, deployment documents and share with deployment and production support teams.  
• Identify risk associated with LOB applications and escalation to senior management and providing solutions to mitigate risks.  

Must haves:  

• 10+ years of engineering and architecture experience building out enterprise web application infrastructure, ideally payment and merchant services applications.  
• Expert experience and knowledge in design and engineering of applications hosted at external cloud such as Azure and AWS – not a must have but this requirement is priority  
• Hands-on experience with configuring and deploying enterprise applications, preferably in high-transaction environments, using middleware products such as Weblogic, Tomcat, Apache servers and integration with Ping Identity.  
• Experience working in a team using the Agile process, with extreme command of project deliverable document preparations, problem analysis, and enterprise application and system architecture.  
• Familiarity with DevOps, Service Delivery management using GIT, JIRA, Ansible, Jenkins, or XLR, for application release management experience.  
• Networking skills and working knowledge: load balancers and firewalls,  
• Experience with web application communication protocols - SOAP, HTTP, XML etc  

Nice to haves:  

• Configuring SAN and NAS storage, F5 load balancing, VIP/WIP/DNS architecture, DMZ security, system administration of RHEL 8 and Windows Server 2019 , Monitoring tools such as ITRS, Tivoli and AppDynamics  
• Proven ability to architect robust infrastructure solutions and integrate multiple large datasets and work with complex databases meeting strict performance requirements.  
• Knowledge of Oracle and/or SQL databases.  
• Linux (RHEL, CentOS) Systems Administration experience.
