Position: Pre-Sales Engineer
Job Responsibilities
- Understand the conversational automation platforms, its offerings/capabilities and the Problems that these offerings can solve for Enterprises in Each Industry and Each function.
- Collaborate with the sales team to understand client requirements and architect custom conversational AI solutions using Gupshup’s APIs and platform.
- Conduct high-impact technical demos and presentations to stakeholders, ranging from Product Managers to CTOs.
- Understand the various backend & frontend systems along with the overall architecture that can be integrated with conversational platforms.
- Own the technical execution of PoCs, ensuring that the client’s success criteria are met and any technical hurdles are cleared.
- Design and implement lightweight backend services and APIs to power demo workflows and conversational journeys.
- Contribute to solution architectures, flow diagrams, API mappings, and RFP/RFI/SoW inputs.
- Act as the "voice of the customer" for the Product and Engineering teams to help influence the roadmap based on market needs.
- Stay abreast with current industry trends, emerging technologies and competitor offerings.
Skill Requirements
- Has the ability to solve complex business problems and concepts and make disciplined decisions based on the available information.
- Exposure to toolsets (Jira, Confluence or similar tools) across Requirements documentation, conversation design and Quality assurance.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-geographical teams.
- Value proposition through Proof of Concept.
- Enterprise security knowledge.
- Proactive problem solving mindset to bring possible solutions and workarounds.
- 2-5 years in a Pre-Sales, Solutions Architecture, or Technical Consulting role (SaaS or CPaaS experience is a major plus).
- AI assisted coding and prompt engineering experience.
- Hands-on experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and handling webhooks.
- Familiarity with at least one programming language (Node.js, Python, or Java).
- Basic understanding of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and deployment concepts, LLMs and integrations (CRMs such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Ticketing/Support Platforms, etc).
- Basic understanding of Conversational AI concepts including intents, entities, session management, fallback handling, and GenAI-driven responses (Good to have)
