Business Project Manager (Oracle Implementation – Financial Services)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Project Manager to lead the delivery of a major Oracle implementation within a banking or financial services environment. This role is focused on the business execution side of the program, ensuring cross-functional teams are aligned, milestones are met, and business readiness is achieved.
The ideal candidate has successfully managed large-scale finance or operations transformation projects, partnered with Oracle implementation teams, and understands the regulatory and control requirements of financial institutions.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Execution
- Lead end-to-end project management for Oracle implementation initiatives (ERP/EPM/Cloud Financials).
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, workstreams, and delivery milestones.
- Drive day-to-day execution across business and functional teams to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Partner with Finance, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Technology stakeholders to manage dependencies and deliverables.
- Facilitate project working sessions, status reviews, and governance forums.
- Ensure clear ownership of actions, decisions, and deliverables across teams.
Risk, Issue, and Change Management
- Identify, track, and mitigate project risks and issues; escalate appropriately.
- Manage scope changes through structured change control processes.
- Maintain project documentation, RAID logs, and executive reporting.
Business Readiness & Implementation Support
- Coordinate key business readiness activities including process alignment, UAT, training support, and cutover planning.
- Ensure business stakeholders are prepared for go-live and operational transition.
- Support post-go-live stabilization and implementation follow-ups.
Financial Services Controls & Compliance
- Ensure project execution aligns with regulatory expectations, audit requirements, and internal control standards (SOX, governance frameworks).
- Partner with Controls and Compliance teams to validate readiness and reporting integrity.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of project management experience in banking or financial services.
- Proven track record managing Oracle implementation projects (ERP, EPM, Cloud Financials, FCCS, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of finance and operational processes (close, reporting, planning, reconciliation).
- Experience managing cross-functional stakeholders in regulated environments.
- Expertise in project governance, milestone management, and executive communication.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP or similar certification.
- Experience with large-scale finance transformation programs.
- Familiarity with Oracle Cloud deployment methodologies and system integrator partnerships.
