Regional Sales Director
Overview:
The Regional Sales Director will increase sales in their region by managing an opportunity pipeline, maximizing sales channels, growing key accounts, and acting as a localized extension of the company mission to make the customers successful.
5 Major Roles:
- Manage the opportunity pipeline and accelerate sales by closing opportunities
- Manage territory growth and sales channel effectiveness
- Proactively win and develop new accounts
- Manage key accounts according to strategic growth plans
- Capture and communicate relevant data using the VOC program, CRM software, and communications platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Key Account Management:
- Coordinate communication with key accounts and manage multi-stage opportunities
- Coordinate with key stakeholders on key account growth plans
- Create customer success meetings with BDL’s and Company leadership
- Manage distributors and channel partners according to growth targets
New Business Development:
- Maintain and develop target prospect lists for each business unit in every territory within your region
- Prioritize and build plans to close opportunities with your top targets.
- Collaborate with BDL’s to introduce new products and strategic initiatives to targets and key accounts
Brand Building:
- Provide localized marketing support as a regional influencer to expand our brand throughout the entire region.
- Attend and present at regional events, open houses, and workshops.
- Engage using social networks to share content and connect with prospects and customers to continuously expand your network and market knowledge
- Coordinate customer success stories to support the marketing program.
- Demonstrate the ability to develop and grow relationships with a network of contacts from the metalworking manufacturing, machine tool, and industrial equipment industry.
CRM/VOC:
- Consistently provide specific VOC (positive and negative) to all relevant parties.
- Log marketing/sales/service touch points using the company CRM including customer appointments and meetings.
- Support sales and marketing by keeping accurate account, contact, and opportunity records in the company CRM
Desired Experience and Expertise:
- Base level understanding of metalworking manufacturing applications and CNC machine tools.
- Experienced in the metalworking manufacturing industry in a customer facing role.
- The ideal RSD possesses a network of relationships from selling, servicing, implementing, or integrating capital equipment or peripheral equipment in the metalworking manufacturing industry.
- Understands the commercial dynamics and distribution layers in industrial manufacturing and metalworking.
- The ideal RSD would have or be able to achieve the CMTSE designation from AMT.
