Salary range: $120,000- $170,000 base with annual bonus
Our client is a fast-growing global snacking company with an increased presence in mainstream, natural, and Asian grocery channels in the U.S. As they continue to scale and expand, they are hiring a capable and experienced CPG Sales Director to lead a local sales team, broker relationships and act as a thought partner to global management to strategically grow their North America business across several brands.
The position hybrid and based in the company’s northern Orange County US Head office. Commuting frequency and specific office days can be discussed.
Responsibilities
Reporting to Global Business Officer, lead the full U.S. commercial operations for all brands, owning revenue, margin, distribution, pricing, trade spend, and team performance across all channels including mainstream, club, and Asian specialty channels. Be responsible for achieving AOP sales goals and driving strategic expansion in the U.S. market.
- Own U.S. net sales, margins, net sales value, and efficiency of trade spend
- Achieve annual operating plan targets through accurate forecasting and effective pricing
- Lead national and regional distributors including UNFI, KeHE, and Asian-focused partners
- Grow distribution across mainstream retail, club, and specialty channels
- Oversee key national and regional accounts including Costco (U.S. and Canada), Kroger, Walmart, Target, Albertsons, H-Mart, 99 Ranch, Seafood City, and others
- Drive joint business planning, sales execution, merchandising, promotions, sell-in/sell-through, and deduction management
- Build channel strategies and pricing structures
- Optimize product assortment, pack sizes, and promotional approaches by channel
- Keep trade spend within approved annual targets
- Review, validate, and resolve KeHE and UNFI chargebacks and deductions
- Prepare sales and expense reports for finance reviews
- Lead demand planning in collaboration with headquarters to improve forecast accuracy and on-time, in-full delivery
- Minimize out-of-stocks, excess inventory, and write-offs
- Manage, develop, and coach sales managers and sales coordinators
- Maintain high standards of execution, accuracy, and operational discipline to avoid inefficiencies and added costs
- Partner closely with marketing, finance, HR, and accounting teams
Qualifications and Experience
- 8 to 30 years of proven Sales Experience in the Snacking, Food or fast moving CPG sector working with retail customers.
- Strong distributor management (UNFI, KeHE) and retailer experience (Costco, Kroger, Walmart, Target, Asian channels).
- Proven P&L ownership, pricing, trade spend, and deduction management.
- Experience leading a commercial team in the United States.
- Strong forecasting, S&OP, and supply chain coordination capabilities.
- Ability to build channel strategies and pricing architecture across multiple brands.
- Must have U.S. work authorization
