Role Overview
The Sales Director – Property & Casualty Software is responsible for driving revenue growth through the sale of enterprise P&C software solutions, with a strong focus on risk management, policy administration, underwriting, claims, compliance, and analytics platforms. This role leads complex, consultative sales cycles with insurance carriers, MGAs, reinsurers, and large brokers, building long-term strategic partnerships and closing high-value enterprise deals. The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of the P&C insurance market, a proven track record of selling complex software solutions, and strong executive-level relationship management skills.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Growth & Sales Execution
- Own and exceed annual sales quota for P&C software and risk management solutions
- Manage the full sales lifecycle: prospecting, discovery, solution positioning, negotiation, and contract closure
- Drive new logo acquisition and expansion within existing accounts
- Sell multi-year, enterprise SaaS and on-premise solutions with complex buying committees
Market & Client Engagement
- Develop and execute a targeted go-to-market strategy for P&C carriers, MGAs, reinsurers, insureds, and brokers
- Build trusted advisor relationships with C-suite, underwriting, claims, actuarial, risk, and IT leaders
- Understand client risk management challenges including exposure management, loss control, regulatory compliance, risk finance, and portfolio optimization
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and executive briefings
Solution & Value Selling
- Position software value across underwriting profitability, policy administration, claims efficiency, risk mitigation, regulatory compliance, and operational transformation
- Collaborate with solution consultants, product management, and customer success teams to design tailored proposals
- Translate technical capabilities into measurable business outcomes and ROI
- Lead RFP/RFI responses and enterprise-level procurement processes
Pipeline Management & Forecasting
- Build and maintain a healthy, predictable sales pipeline using CRM tools
- Provide accurate forecasting and deal updates to sales leadership
- Identify market trends, competitive threats, and growth opportunities
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Mentor and support Account Executives or regional sales team members (if applicable)
- Work closely with Marketing on account-based campaigns and thought leadership
- Provide customer and market feedback to Product and Engineering teams
Required Qualifications
Experience
- 8–12+ years of enterprise software sales experience, preferably in P&C insurance or insurtech
- Proven success selling risk management, policy administration, underwriting, claims, analytics, or core insurance platforms
- Track record of closing complex, six- and seven-figure deals
- Experience navigating long sales cycles and multi-stakeholder decision processes
Industry Knowledge
- Strong understanding of Property & Casualty insurance operations
- Familiarity with risk management concepts such as exposure analysis, loss modeling, compliance, and portfolio risk
- Knowledge of insurance regulatory environments and market dynamics
Skills & Competencies
- Consultative, value-based selling approach
- Executive presence and strong negotiation skills
- Ability to articulate technical solutions to both business and technical audiences
- Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills
- Proficiency with CRM and sales enablement tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience selling SaaS platforms to Tier 1 or Tier 2 insurers
- Background in underwriting, claims, or insurance operations (a plus)
- Existing network within the P&C and RIMS insurance industry
- Experience with international or multi-region sales
