What You’ll Do:
Relate Search has partnered with a well-funded, early-stage data and analytics company to identify a Senior Sales Engineer to serve as the primary technical partner in customer-facing sales engagements. This role plays a critical part in shaping go-to-market success by leading technical discovery, proof-of-concept execution, and ROI storytelling across data-driven insurance and financial services solutions. You will operate at the intersection of data, technology, and commercial strategy, acting as the technical face of the product while collaborating closely with senior leadership in a fully remote startup environment.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary sales engineer supporting the sales team and senior leadership, acting as the go-to technical expert throughout the sales cycle.
- Engage early with insurance and financial services customers to understand data environments, business challenges, and objectives, and map those needs to existing analytics and data products.
- Own end-to-end technical proof-of-concepts (POCs), including data ingestion, querying, analysis, validation, and preparation of clear, business-ready results.
- Present technical solutions and POC outcomes to customer stakeholders, clearly explaining methodologies, assumptions, and results while addressing detailed technical and business questions.
- Partner closely with sales leadership and account teams to support demos, solution proposals, and deal strategy, while providing structured customer feedback into product and engineering discussions.
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience in sales engineering, solutions engineering, or a closely related customer-facing technical role supporting complex data products.
- Strong hands-on experience with data analysis and manipulation using SQL and at least one scripting language such as Python or Perl.
- Experience working in insurance or broader financial services, including familiarity with consumer and commercial data and associated regulatory considerations (e.g., FCRA, GLBA, DPPA).
- Practical experience leading technical proof-of-concepts end-to-end and delivering results that withstand detailed customer scrutiny.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage senior technical and business stakeholders in a remote, fast-paced environment.
