Contract Opportunity | Solutions Engineer (1099)

We are looking for an experienced Solutions Engineer for a customer-facing, post-sales role with a strong focus on Fortinet security and networking solutions. This role supports design validation, implementation, integration, and production support of secure, scalable network environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, deploy, and support Fortinet solutions including FortiGate firewalls, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiSwitch, FortiAP, and SD-WAN
• Implement and maintain firewall policies, VPNs (IPsec/SSL), routing, and security controls
• Perform security hardening, firmware upgrades, patching, and vulnerability remediation on Fortinet platforms
• Provide advanced troubleshooting and act as an escalation point for complex firewall, routing, and VPN issues
• Execute live environment changes, cutovers, and migrations during maintenance windows
• Collaborate with customers, vendors, carriers, and internal engineering teams
• Conduct security assessments and support audit and compliance efforts
• Maintain detailed technical documentation and participate in design reviews
• Mentor junior engineers on Fortinet best practices and troubleshooting

Requirements

• 4+ years hands-on experience in enterprise network and security environments
• Proven hands-on experience with Fortinet solutions, especially FortiGate
• Strong experience with firewall policies, VPNs, and secure network connectivity
• Solid TCP/IP, routing, and switching fundamentals
• Experience with BGP, GRE, DMVPN, and IPv6 in production environments
• Experience performing firmware upgrades and vulnerability remediation
• Strong customer-facing communication skills
• Security+ or equivalent certification required
• Fortinet NSE certifications strongly preferred
• CCNA or equivalent experience required; advanced certifications a plus
• Ability to pass a hands-on technical assessment
