Solutions Engineer

This is an exciting opportunity to join a central Digital Solutions team delivering a bold, group-wide digital transformation programme. You’ll work at the intersection of software engineering, solution architecture, and emerging technology—helping turn innovative ideas into practical, scalable solutions that drive real business value across diverse industries.

The role

As a Solutions Engineer, you’ll work closely with senior architects and engineering teams to design, prototype, and deliver modern digital solutions. You’ll support both strategic, group-level initiatives and individual business projects, while promoting best practices and accelerating adoption of secure, scalable technologies.

What you’ll do

• Design and prototype modern digital solutions using cloud, AI, and other emerging technologies
• Support the rollout of strategic group-level initiatives, including in-house Generative AI solutions
• Build proof-of-concepts (POCs) aligned to business needs and digital strategy
• Collaborate with engineering teams to promote modern software development practices
• Champion best practices in code quality, CI/CD, testing, and agile delivery
• Create reusable technical assets such as reference architectures, templates, and playbooks
• Translate innovative ideas into tangible prototypes that support decision-making and stakeholder engagement

About you

• 5+ years’ experience in cloud-native development (ideally Azure-based)
• Strong software engineering background (C# and/or Python)
• Hands-on experience with cloud services, APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, version control, and automated testing
• Strong grasp of solution architecture principles including scalability, security, and performance
• Comfortable working across multiple teams and translating business needs into technical solutions
• Confident communicator, able to engage both technical teams and senior stakeholders

Nice to have

• Experience with Generative AI, LLMs, RAG techniques, or related frameworks
• Exposure to low-code platforms or workflow automation tools
• Front-end development experience with modern frameworks (e.g. React, Angular, Vue)
• Experience with edge computing, VR/AR, or other emerging technologies
