An innovative, fast-growing data centre platform is looking for a Solutions Engineer (Europe) to join its Platform Engineering function. Reporting to the Director of Platform Engineering, this role works closely with regional Sales, Engineering, and Construction teams to deliver highly innovative, client-focused data centre solutions across Europe.

The Role  

As Solutions Engineer, you will act as the technical bridge between clients, sales teams, and internal engineering functions—helping translate client needs into robust, scalable, and sustainable data centre solutions.

Key Responsibilities  

• Partner with European sales teams to understand customer requirements and align technical solutions to client objectives  
• Provide technical support for RFPs, including written responses, presentations, and client meetings  
• Present and explain technical concepts, including mechanical and electrical design, to customers  
• Maintain a deep understanding of data centre products, platforms, and services  
• Coordinate with internal engineering, operations, and delivery teams to ensure solutions are technically sound and commercially appropriate  
• Provide post-sales technical support and assist with future solution development  
• Monitor industry trends and competitor activity, feeding insights into product and platform development  
• Build strong, long-term client relationships and ensure expectations are exceeded  
• Contribute to platform reference designs and standardised solution sets  
• Translate platform requirements for capacity, resilience, performance, and operability into integrated design solutions  
• Identify technical risks, constraints, and interdependencies, supporting mitigation planning  
• Engage with OEMs and specialist consultants to validate technical assumptions and performance criteria  
• Support continuous improvement through lessons learned from delivery, commissioning, and operations  
• Embed sustainability, efficiency, and reliability principles into all platform solutions

Skills & Experience

​

Education & Experience  

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering-related discipline  
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a technical role within data centre design, construction, or technical sales  
• Experience in technical sales or sales engineering (data centres preferred)  
• Strong understanding of data centre design and critical systems  
• Knowledge of hyperscale client standards and design philosophies is advantageous  
• Understanding of customer IT infrastructure (servers, storage, networking, virtualisation)

Technical & Personal Skills  

• Proficient in design and visualisation tools (e.g. Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam)  
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences  
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills  
• High attention to detail with strong project management capability  
• Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively  
• Passion for innovation and keeping up with industry best practices
