Solutions Engineer – Data Center & AI Infrastructure - Paris

A leading European Datacenter operator is expanding its technical pre-sales team and seeking a Solutions Engineer to support complex infrastructure projects across AI, hyperscale cloud, and high-density compute environments. The organisation designs, builds, and operates modern Datacenters across France and Europe and is currently delivering multiple high-capacity expansion projects, including large-scale AI infrastructure programs.

In this role, you will act as the technical link between commercial teams, engineering, and operations. You will design power, cooling, and hosting solutions aligned with industry-leading reference architectures and advanced Datacenter technologies. You will play a central role in client engagements, technical audits, partner collaboration, and solution development throughout the sales and delivery lifecycle. This is an opportunity to help shape next-generation Datacenter design, influence the technology roadmap, and collaborate with major global technology partners in the AI and hyperscale ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Design tailored high-density hosting solutions including liquid cooling, advanced power topologies, and Datacenter networking.
  • Convert client requirements into scalable, energy-efficient solutions aligned with globally recognized hardware and AI reference designs.
  • Support commercial teams by producing technical proposals and presenting solutions during client workshops and pitch sessions.
  • Lead technical assessments and due diligence processes for enterprise and hyperscale clients, coordinating inputs from internal engineering and operations teams.
  • Present Datacenter solutions, high-density concepts, and AI infrastructure designs at client meetings and technical events.
  • Ensure smooth handover from pre-sales to deployment by coordinating with internal project and operations teams.
  • Develop expertise on partner technologies (compute, cooling, power, server architecture) and maintain strong relationships within the partner ecosystem.
  • Represent the company at industry working groups and technical communities, contributing to thought leadership and innovation.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to the continuous improvement of solution design frameworks.
  • Participate in the development of the company’s long-term technology strategy.

Required Skills & Experience

Background & Experience

  • Master’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, computer engineering, HVAC, or related field).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience within the Datacenter sector, with solid knowledge of IT hardware.
  • At least 3 years in a pre-sales or post-sales engineering role supporting hyperscale, cloud, or enterprise clients.

Technical Expertise

  • Strong understanding of cooling technologies (air, liquid, adiabatic, free cooling) and electrical distribution (UPS systems, PDU, busway).
  • Knowledge of AI and high-density compute ecosystems including server, GPU, and OEM hardware architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with direct liquid cooling (DLC) solutions.
  • Familiarity with international standards such as ISO-27001, ISO-50001, PCI-DSS, and energy efficiency metrics (PUE, WUE).

Languages

  • Fluency in English or French (with strong proficiency in the other).

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical thinking and the ability to simplify complex technical subjects for clients.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Comfortable collaborating across commercial, technical, and operational teams.
  • Ability to anticipate technology trends and adapt quickly.
  • Highly organised, autonomous, and able to work under pressure.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
