AI Solutions Engineer | London/ Hybrid | Permanent | Specialty Insurance

We are exclusively partnered with a specialist insurer in the London market to hire an AI Solutions Engineer.

​

This is a hands on role focused on building AI enabled capabilities that modernise underwriting workflows. You will join at an early stage with significant scope to shape how this capability scales.

The opportunity

You will work in a small, high ownership team building prototypes quickly with business users, proving value fast, and creating solution patterns that can be productionised by broader technology teams and delivery partners. This is not a research role and not a pure strategy role. It is a build role with real outcomes.

What you will do

• Prototype AI enabled workflow and decision support capabilities with underwriting stakeholders
• Translate ambiguous problems into practical solutions and rapid proofs of concept
• Design solutions that integrate with cloud and data platforms and can be operationalised at scale
• Collaborate closely with engineering, data, architecture, and security stakeholders to deliver safely
• Document learnings and patterns so successful prototypes can be handed over for production build

What we are looking for

• Strong engineering fundamentals and a bias to action
• Comfort working in ambiguity with changing priorities and imperfect requirements
• Ability to build prototypes that are useful, without over engineering
• Good stakeholder skills and the confidence to ask sharp questions

Experience in one or more of the following is helpful

• Data engineering, analytics engineering, ML engineering, MLOps
• Solutions engineering, technical delivery, or architecture in complex environments
• Cloud engineering and modern development practices
• Insurance experience is helpful but not required. Curiosity, drive, and practical problem solving matter most.
