Overview:
The Associate Director of Field Leadership Sales Training, reporting to the Director, Global Sales Excellence Training, will lead Field Leadership curriculum creation and execution for the US Sales team, develop field leader competencies, and build the new Regional Director (RD) learning journey.
The primary responsibility is US leadership with potential for global expansion.
Role Summary:
The Associate Director will expand the learning journey for new and tenured sales leaders through the creation of coaching curriculum, best in class onboarding for new RDs, and competency development for sales leaders.
The successful candidate is a dynamic, experienced professional with a strong track record in sales training curriculum development and implementation, sales leadership training, and team leadership across various settings in the pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical industry.
The role requires managing complex projects, influencing stakeholders without authority, effective cross functional networking, and communicating with senior leaders in a fast moving commercial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and enhance sales training curriculum for first line leaders and complete the Field Leadership learning journey.
- Create and implement Field Leader competency models that support sales and cross functional competencies.
- Create and implement a New RD learning journey for the first year of onboarding.
- Review existing training inventory to determine viability for reuse or adaptation globally, focusing on high impact content.
- Collaborate with US and global stakeholders to define desired performance outcomes and required behaviours, skills, and knowledge by role.
- Determine content changes for existing curricula or partner with external vendors to design and build new content.
- Incorporate motivating, creative, and interactive training techniques to enhance experience and maximize learning and retention.
- Ensure competencies and corresponding training drive competitiveness and operational excellence.
- Demonstrate strong, complex project management; manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
- Engage stakeholders throughout development, incorporating feedback to ensure relevance and inclusion.
- Lead without formal authority; influence and align diverse stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 12 years’ experience, OR Master’s degree and 10 years’ experience, OR PhD and 8 years’ experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven credibility and expertise in Leadership Training and Development.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver compelling training to large audiences.
- Proven ability to connect and align stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong collaborative and creative problem solving skills; ability to overcome resistance or barriers.
- Demonstrated excellence in program management, project management, and change management; ability to manage multiple projects/priorities.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Domain/Context:
Specialization in sales training for line level leaders and above within commercial pharma/biotech.
Strong grounding in adult learning principles, facilitation, and executive presence.
