Data Implementation Manager
Job Description
This role is critical for leading our flagship platform implementations, owning the Standard Data Model, and driving data quality across the platform. This role is critical for the successful onboarding of customers onto our proprietary mortgage servicing platform by owning the strategy, execution, and quality of all data-related workstreams. This candidate will also drive the Standard Data Model, including defining and maintaining the data dictionary, as well as working through schema versioning to support new loan types and features. This person is also responsible for driving data quality, leading ongoing data QA, reconciling between systems, and continuously improving our platform's conversion tooling in between major customer projects. We require a seasoned leader who can define the standards and execute creative, practical solutions to novel data challenges.
A Typical Day:
During an active implementation:
- You work closely with technical leads and the customer working team to define architecture, data mappings, validation, cutover, and reconciliation
- You serve as the primary internal coordinator to ensure the customer integration's data mapping efforts are aligned with the new company Standard Data Model
- You are responsible for translating requirements into a testable design and ensuring all data activities meet security, compliance, and performance needs
- You actively collaborate with the Product and Engineering teams to define and test the system upgrades necessary to successfully onboard loans
- You write, run, and fix the tools and processes needed to execute the data migration, focusing on data quality and completeness
- You maintain rigorous governance over the data workstream, keeping an impeccable decision log for data mappings and cutover plans
- You provide clear, concise communication to the Implementation Leader and client stakeholders, including surfacing trade-offs, options, and implications related to data strategy
Between implementations:
- You lead efforts to expand and maintain the Standard Data Model and the platform's data dictionary, including adding or refining fields as the product expands (e.g., new loan types, features) and working on schema versioning
- You continuously build and improve the core data migration and quality tooling, such as SQL automation, Python/ETL frameworks, automated data-quality pipelines, and data-reconciliation frameworks
- You design and execute mapping and validation for smaller data transfers, such as onboarding additional portfolios for existing clients, co-issue MSR boardings, or monthly flow transfers
- You lead ongoing data QA, reconciliation between source-of-truth systems, and backfills when new product features require historical data population or internal migrations
- You leverage your deep data knowledge to review schema designs, run test migrations, and validate data models for new system features in partnership with Engineering and Product
- You contribute to the Implementation Playbook by formalizing data migration runbooks, templates, and repeatable validation practices
The Data Implementation Manager will:
- Own End-to-End Data Execution: Lead all data-related activities from discovery through hypercare, including requirements gathering, solution design, migration, and post-cutover reconciliation
- Drive Data Model Alignment: Act as the internal liaison to support customer data integration and migration strategy, as well as owning the maintenance, documentation, and versioning of the internal Standard Data Model to align with product and investor requirements
- Design and Execute Data Migration: Personally lead critical data workstreams, defining the data mapping, data conversion rules, validation rules, and the full data cutover plan in partnership with internal and client technical teams
- Contribute to Product Upgrade: Play a key role in the process to build out core system functionality, ensuring the platform is upgraded to successfully support the full scope of external customer’s loan portfolio. This includes performing internal migrations for schema upgrades or platform refactors
- Ensure Data Quality and Compliance: Hold SLAs on defect leakage and stability, and design and execute testing plans to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to security and compliance standards. This also involves supporting investor compliance and reporting requirements
- Formalize Data Runbooks: Contribute to the Implementation Playbook by formalizing data migration runbooks, templates, and repeatable validation practices
- Manage Schedule and Risk: Control the critical path, proactively manage data-related risks, and secure timely decisions from internal and client executives
What You’ll Bring:
- Deep Integration and Data Expertise: Comfort with technical concepts like REST/webhooks/SFTP/event streams, data mapping, validation, and cutover
- Experience in Enterprise Data Delivery: At least 5+ years leading implementations of complex systems of record (ERP, CRM, billing, core platforms), with a focus on data pipelines
- Tool Proficiency: Expertise in Jira/Confluence, SQL, Python, and various other ETL tooling
- Program Leadership and Coordination: Skilled with exec steering, scope negotiation, and risk control, coordinating efforts across internal product/engineering teams and external client teams
- Clear, Concise Communication: Proven ability to run efficient meetings and keep impeccable decision logs, ensuring all constituents are brought along with rigorous discipline
- Financial Services Fluency (A Plus): Experience in fintech, payments, lending, mortgage servicing, or other regulated industry where data accuracy / sensitivity is critical strengthens your fit
