Data Solutions Architect Lead
About the Opportunity:
The organization is seeking a Data Solutions Architect Lead to design, develop, and implement scalable data solutions that support business operations, reporting, analytics, and AI initiatives. This remote role requires collaboration with data engineers, product teams, architects, and business stakeholders to deliver secure, efficient, and compliant cloud-native data capabilities on AWS.
Responsibilities:
• Lead design and documentation of end-to-end data solutions aligned with enterprise architecture and business goals.
• Develop frameworks for data ingestion, transformation, storage, and delivery that meet security, governance, privacy, and compliance standards.
• Drive adoption of modern architectural patterns such as data mesh, data products, and event-driven designs.
• Collaborate with data engineers and platform teams to optimize solutions for performance and cost.
• Promote best practices for reusable, modular, and scalable solution components.
• Provide technical mentorship to junior architects, data engineers, and developers.
• Engage with stakeholders to understand data requirements and propose scalable solutions.
• Work with analytics, product, and governance teams to ensure solutions meet business and compliance needs.
• Participate in design reviews and architecture governance forums.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies, tools, and industry trends in cloud-native data solutions.
• Support evaluation and selection of new tools, technologies, and platforms.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
• AWS certifications in Architecture or Big Data specialties preferred.
• 7 to 10 years of experience in data solution architecture, data engineering, or data platform development.
• 3 or more years of experience designing solutions in cloud environments, preferably AWS.
• Experience delivering large-scale data solutions supporting analytics, BI, or AI use cases.
• Experience in retail, consumer products, or related industries preferred.
• Strong understanding of cloud data architectures, distributed systems, and modern data design patterns.
• Proficiency in batch, near-real-time, and streaming data processing solutions.
• Knowledge of AWS services such as S3, Redshift, Glue, Athena, EMR, and Kinesis.
• Familiarity with FiveTran and dbt Cloud is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.

Compensation:
• $158,000 - $168,000
• The posted salary range reflects minimum and maximum targets for new hires for this role in Goleta, CA. Individual pay will be determined by location, skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The recruiter will provide specific salary details for preferred locations during the hiring process.
