Director of Sales
The Director of Sales is responsible for driving sales & increasing profitability by cultivating current relationships with retailers & bringing new accounts to the table.
Responsibilities:
- Align with Company goals and develop strategies to grow the business
- Develop and execute all key growth sales plans required to achieve/beat financial targets. Provide and keep projections up to date for yearly business expectations.
- Develop, manage & cultivate relationships with retailers.
- Participate in account planning and strategy including revenue goals.
- Attend all key account sales meetings.
- Review account reporting and results.
- Identify account opportunities and help set direction.
- Present brand overview to all new accounts.
Collaborate with Merchandising and Design
- Review overall design aesthetics and “on brand “product.
- Assure assortments meet individual account business needs and expectations.
- Research and perform competitive analysis; monitor relevant trends and communicate to internal partners, where appropriate.
- Identify product opportunities and help set product direction.
- Meet and review the line per corporate annual calendar.
- Review naming conventions and product marketing strategy.
- Shop key accounts and competition and regularly provide competitive samples.
- Monitor market trends and inform team.
- Involved in all marketing initiatives.
Financials
- Work with Design, Sales and Marketing to drive organic growth across the brand.
- Work with Design, Sales and Marketing to provide effective and efficient oversight of resources to ensure projects are delivered as promised in terms of time, budgets and results.
- Work with Sourcing to ensure we are meeting brand requirements.
Operations
- Work closely with our Sales Operations & Warehouse Team to ensure all orders are shipped in a timely manner.
- Run daily inventory reports to ensure we maintain a healthy stock position.
- Oversee Sourcing/Production side of the business to ensure all orders are placed in a timely manner + ensure that all cost components in SAP are accurate (FOB/Duty/Freight etc.).
- Monitor all incoming shipments to ensure they align with existing open orders we have in the system.
- Work with Sales Operations team to ensure retailers are kept informed of the status of their purchase orders.
Qualifications:
- BA or BS preferred
- 10+ years of sales experience
- Advanced Excel Skills
- Solid understanding of wholesale process in apparel field
- SAP is a plus
- Ability to multitask, have a high sense of urgency and work in a fast-paced environment
- Leadership skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong knowledge of retail math & sales planning
- Proven track record of success and positive references
- Superior organizational skills
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
