Job Description

My client, a rapidly growing startup in the fintech industry, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Sales to lead growth initiatives within the private equity and broader private markets ecosystem. This executive will own revenue strategy and execution, with a particular focus on private equity firms, fund administrators, and adjacent alternative investment organizations.

The ideal candidate brings a strong background in enterprise sales leadership, deep familiarity with private equity and fund administration, and a proven ability to build scalable go-to-market systems while driving sustained revenue growth.

Role Scope

This role partners closely with marketing, product, and leadership to shape positioning, develop targeted collateral, and execute a disciplined GTM motion aligned to the company’s ideal customer profile.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in driving growth within the private capital markets, leveraging deep industry expertise and disciplined GTM leadership to build a durable and scalable revenue engine.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive go-to-market and sales strategy targeting private equity firms, fund administrators, venture capital, credit, and other alternative investment organizations
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with fund administrators, recognizing their role as trusted advisors and best-practice influencers within private equity
  • Create, manage, and convert a pipeline of qualified private market prospects into long-term client relationships
  • Cultivate executive-level relationships with key decision-makers across target accounts
  • Identify new market opportunities and expand the company’s footprint within the private capital ecosystem
  • Collaborate with marketing teams and external partners to design and execute targeted campaigns for private equity and fund administration audiences
  • Monitor market trends, competitive dynamics, and customer feedback to inform sales strategy and positioning
  • Deliver accurate sales forecasts, pipeline reporting, and performance insights to senior leadership
  • Define and implement KPIs to measure GTM effectiveness and sales performance
  • Build and optimize sales systems and operations, including deal lifecycle definition, stage management, and tracking
  • Establish inbound routing workflows across CRM, collaboration tools, and scheduling platforms
  • Develop objection-handling frameworks, sales scripts, and response playbooks
  • Represent the company at industry events, podcasts, and strategic initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field
  • 6 to 8+ years of progressive experience in sales leadership roles with a consistent record of exceeding revenue targets
  • Strong understanding of private equity and private markets, including fund structures, operating models, and industry dynamics (highly preferred)
  • Established network within private equity, fund administration, and alternative investment sectors (preferred)
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and executive presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and scale high-performing sales teams
  • Hands-on experience with CRM platforms and sales analytics tools
