Senior Sales Engineer - AI & Fintech
About The Position
InvestCloud is seeking a proven Sales Engineering Consultant to join our growing business development team and partner with leading financial services organizations to create value through Data platform opportunities, AI enablement, and digital experiences. The right candidate will be confident, inquisitive, execution-focused, and passionate about growing our client base. Successful Sales Engineering Consultants need to possess excellent technical, communication, organizational, and sales engineering skills, as well as a passion for problem solving and a strong understanding of how AI, data, and digital solutions are transforming financial services.
Your work will enable our clients and prospects to reimagine what is possible for their businesses. In this role, you will engage with prospects and clients to uncover their most important business challenges, demonstrate the value of the InvestCloud platform, and shape solutions to address clients' most urgent needs. You will work directly with Account Executives and Customer Success Managers to position InvestCloud as the most powerful software solution in the industry to the investment management community.
Driving the discovery process with prospective clients through expertise in financial markets, technology, AI enablement, data integrations / platform, and digital experiences will be a key part of your responsibilities. You will present the unique InvestCloud story with empathy and passion to a wide array of financial services firms, including wealth managers, asset managers, banks, broker dealers, custodians, and TAMPs. Additionally, you will oversee and guide consultative exercises to bring each client's differentiated story to life through digital design, comprehensive functional documentation, and solutioning within the productized application suite.
Collaboration with the product team to drive platform and app innovation will also be essential. Achieving and exceeding sales objectives through the expansion and growth of business relationships with new clients using a consultative and process-driven approach is expected. You will effectively and confidently facilitate client meetings and provide thought leadership on AI, Data, and Digital Experiences for clients and advisors. This role provides a unique opportunity to develop cross-disciplinary expertise across design, product strategy, financial services, digital advisory, consultative engagement, and deal structuring—positioning the individual at the intersection of technology, AI, data, and client value creation.
Responsibilities
- Engage with prospects and clients to uncover their most important business challenges and architect comprehensive technical solutions, with a focus on AI enablement, data platform opportunities, and digital experiences.
- Deliver compelling strategic presentations and business value assessments for C-suite executives and strategic stakeholders, articulating platform impact and transformation roadmaps with clarity and confidence.
- Work directly with Account Executives and Customer Success Managers to position InvestCloud as the leading software solution through technical expertise, architectural guidance, and insights into AI, data, and digital capabilities.
- Drive the discovery process with prospective clients through expertise in financial markets, technology architecture, AI, data platforms, and digital experiences.
- Present the InvestCloud story to various financial services firms including wealth managers, asset managers, banks, and broker dealers.
- Lead functional and technical discovery sessions to map client workflows, define integration requirements, and design scalable, secure architecture across disparate systems, considering best practices in AI, data, and digital experience.
- Translate complex requirements into technical strategies that address client needs in areas such as data integration, AI-driven solutions, digital advice, financial planning, and digital enablement.
- Collaborate with the product team to drive platform innovation and technical roadmap development, incorporating perspectives on AI, data, and digital experience.
- Achieve and exceed sales objectives through the expansion of business relationships with new clients using technical consultative approaches.
- Facilitate technical client meetings and provide thought leadership on modern financial technology architectures and AI, Data, and Digital Experiences.
- Collaborate with Solution Architects to create detailed technical architecture diagrams and integration specifications for RFP responses and solution proposals.
Requirements
Must-Have
- Management consulting experience directly interfacing with clients.
- 8+ years of experience in financial services, consulting, or fintech, with exposure to AI enablement, data platforms, digital experiences, and client advisory.
- Understanding of the financial services technology ecosystem, including client and advisor experience platforms, CRM, practice management, financial planning, portfolio and order management systems, performance reporting, risk, and accounting.
- Demonstrated ability to engage with wealth managers, asset managers, banks, or broker-dealers on strategic technology, AI, data, and digital initiatives.
Technical & Analytical Proficiency
- Proven ability to architect technical solutions involving complex data integrations with firm and third-party platforms, API-based architectures, enterprise systems, and AI-driven solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to distill complexity into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Experience interfacing with multidisciplinary teams to develop and deliver scalable, client-facing solutions in AI, data, and digital domains.
- Familiarity with AI/ML, data modeling, digital transformation concepts, or wealth management platforms is a plus.
Consultative & Communication Skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with a track record of building credibility with both technical stakeholders and executive decision-makers.
- Superior presentation, written communication, and facilitation skills; able to tailor messaging across business and technical audiences.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to engaging prospects and driving pre-sales strategy.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience selling into clients as part of a consulting or sales engineering role.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or equivalent experience in business, finance, computer science, or a related field preferred.
The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on the applicant’s geographic location. Salary range: $173,000 - $190,000.
