Role Overview

We’re expanding rapidly and building a top-tier R&D organization in the U.S. to support our global scale. This role offers the chance to shape a critical function during the early stages of that growth.

The Solutions Engineering team serves as Gong’s primary technical partner for our largest customers and partners, helping them design, develop, and refine integrations that create seamless revenue workflows and customer experiences. As our first Field Engineer based in New York, you’ll play a key role in supporting Sales, Account Management, and Partnerships as we grow our Go-To-Market (GTM) presence in the region.

We’re seeking a seasoned engineer with strong technical depth, strategic thinking, and excellent interpersonal skills. You enjoy solving complex challenges, excel in customer-facing environments, and welcome the chance to influence product direction through real-world insights. This position blends hands-on technical work with high-impact collaboration across Gong’s GTM and product teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with Sales and Account Management to assist customers integrating with Gong’s platform.
  • Work closely with the Partnerships team to support successful partner integrations.
  • Engage with customers and partners to understand their architectures, challenges, and objectives—then recommend and deliver Gong solutions.
  • Provide ongoing technical guidance and support to strategic accounts to ensure successful deployment and long-term value.
  • Represent customer needs by sharing insights and feedback with product and engineering to help shape roadmap priorities.
  • Serve as a technical expert and trusted advisor throughout both pre-sales and post-sales stages.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Field Engineering, Sales Engineering, or related roles.
  • Strong full-stack engineering background with experience writing production-quality code.
  • Proven ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience partnering with Sales, Partnerships, or GTM teams to support and close strategic opportunities.
  • Demonstrated history of collaborating with product and engineering teams to influence product direction based on customer requirements.
  • Comfortable working with senior leaders and C-level stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel for key client meetings (10–20%).
  • SaaS or revenue technology experience is strongly preferred.

  • Annual salary range for this role is $176,000–$220,000 USD.

Compensation varies based on factors unique to each candidate, such as skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Gong uses a location-based compensation model, so ranges may differ in other areas. Total compensation may also include incentives, bonuses, equity, and benefits. Some sales compensation plans offer opportunities to exceed target earnings for exceptional performance.
