Job Description

I am searching for a Senior Presales Engineer for my client, a high-growth technology company focused on secure, scalable edge-to-cloud IoT data streaming. Their platform empowers global enterprises to modernise operations, accelerate digital transformation, and unlock AI-ready data with customers spanning automotive, pharmaceutical, and manufacturing sectors. This is a strategic pre-sales role partnering with Account Executives to help enterprise clients understand how the platform addresses complex technical and business challenges. It blends technical depth with strong stakeholder engagement, across the EMEA.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Serve as the technical counterpart to 3–4 Account Executives, leading demos, deep-dives, and proof-of-concepts.
  • Translate complex OT/IT customer requirements into structured, scalable solutions.
  • Influence deal strategy, proactively address objections, and build trust with technical stakeholders.
  • Work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Professional Services to align on customer needs.
  • Represent the company at customer meetings, webinars, and industry events.

Must-Have Skills:

  • 4+ years in solutions engineering or software pre-sales, ideally in IoT, data streaming, or infrastructure software.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of Kubernetes and Linux infrastructure - these are essential.
  • Experience with MQTT, networking (TCP/IP, Websockets), and cloud-native architecture.
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and business audiences.
  • Comfortable leading enterprise customer conversations with mixed technical/non-technical stakeholders.
  • Fluent in English.

Bonus Points For:

  • Experience with Java, Docker, AWS/GCP/Azure, Ansible, or TensorFlow.
  • Exposure to Industry 4.0, SCADA, or digital transformation programmes.
  • Familiarity with enterprise-grade security, observability, or interoperability concepts.
  • Use of sales frameworks such as MEDDPIC.
  • Experience supporting major German automotive or industrial clients.

Package:

  • £120,000 - 130,000K OTE 70/30
