Job Description

A leading warehouse automation and storage solutions provider is seeking an accomplished Automation Sales Director to lead and expand its automation division during a pivotal phase of growth. This is a hands-on commercial leadership role with a clear path to VP of Sales for the right individual.

The Automation Sales Director will be responsible for developing and executing a growth strategy focused on small to mid-sized automation projects ($200K-$3M), while leading and mentoring a team of account managers. This individual will play a key role in diversifying the customer base, driving new business, and promoting collaboration across all product lines, including conveyors, storage, and automation systems.

Package:

  • Base salary: $175K - $225K  
  • Performance-based bonus  
  • Vehicle benefit included (company car or allowance)  
  • Remote working arrangement  

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and expand the automation sales function across North America.  
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive go-to-market strategy across automation, conveyors, and storage systems.  
  • Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing sales team with a culture of independence and accountability.  
  • Drive business development efforts targeting small to mid-sized integrators, manufacturers, and 3PLs.  
  • Collaborate with leadership to align sales goals with broader organizational strategy and cross-sell opportunities.  
  • Modernize sales processes and introduce proactive pipeline development initiatives.  

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Proven background in automation, conveyors, or material handling systems, ideally from an SME integrator or manufacturer.  
  • Experienced sales leader with a strong record of team development and new business growth.  
  • Personable and commercially driven, able to inspire confidence and foster collaboration across departments.  
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment with limited bureaucracy.  
  • Strategic yet hands-on, with a non-micromanaging leadership style.  
  • Ambitious, with the potential to step into a VP-level role as the business scales.
