Role Overview
The company is hiring a Director of Sales to drive enterprise revenue growth. This is a hands-on closing role, ideal for a senior seller who has experience selling into insurance carriers, MGAs, or MGUs and thrives in a lean, growth-stage environment.
The title is flexible and may evolve into a Chief Revenue Officer role over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and close enterprise sales with:
- Insurance carriers
- MGAs / MGUs
- Insurance-adjacent enterprise buyers
- Lead deals end-to-end, from prospecting to close
- Communicate product value using insurance-specific language (risk, claims, incidents, general liability)
- Build and manage a pipeline capable of generating $3M+ in annual revenue
- Work closely with leadership on go-to-market strategy
- Help shape future sales processes as the company scales
Required Experience
- Proven experience selling into insurance companies
- Carriers, MGAs, MGUs, or similar buyers
- Strong track record of closing large, complex enterprise deals
- Familiarity with insurance sales cycles and buyer personas
- Comfortable working independently in a small, fast-moving company
- Experience selling technology, data-driven, or analytics-based products
Candidates do not need to have worked at an insurance company, but must have sold into insurance buyers.
Preferred Experience
- Background in risk, claims, incident management, or loss-related products
- Exposure to AI, data science, or analytics (non-technical)
- Experience at early-stage or growth-stage technology companies
Compensation & Equity
- Base Salary: ~$150,000
- OTE: ~$350,000–$400,000+
- Equity: ~0.25%–1% (performance-based)
- Commission-heavy structure preferred to reward closers
