Role Overview

As a Pre-Sales Engineer, you will support the sales process by providing technical expertise, consultative guidance, and solution demonstrations to prospects and customers. This role requires someone with global client engagement experience and the ability to communicate complex technical solutions with clarity and confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Engagement and Discovery

  • Meet with prospective or existing clients (virtually or in person) to understand their business goals, challenges, and technical environment.
  • Conduct needs assessments, understand customer requirements and map them to Lepide’s data security solutions effectively.
  • Ask probing questions to uncover pain points and desired outcomes.

Solution Design and Proposal Support

  • Conduct technical presentations, product demos, and proof-of-concept sessions for global clients.
  • Identify and assess gaps in clients’ existing data protection and access control systems, offering expert recommendations.
  • Build solution presentations, technical proposals, and Statements of Work (SOWs).
  • Support pricing, scoping, and configuration to ensure proposals are viable, competitive, and profitable.

Sales Collaboration

  • Collaborate with the sales team to design and deliver tailored technical proposals.
  • Attend client meetings and presentations as the technical subject matter expert (SME) for cybersecurity, data governance, and Active Directory security.
  • Support RFP/RFI responses with technical content and value justification.
  • Assist in proof-of-concepts (POCs), demos, or workshops to showcase solution capabilities.

Internal Coordination

  • Work closely with the product team to communicate client insights and enhance solution offerings.
  • Work with delivery, engineering and support teams to ensure solutions can be delivered as proposed.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, AD security, compliance standards (GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001), and emerging threats.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in pre-sales, solution consulting, or technical consulting, ideally in data security or cybersecurity solutions.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows Server, offer 365, exchange server and data access auditing.
  • Strong understanding of data protection principles, identity management, and access governance.
  • Proven experience interacting with enterprise clients globally, particularly in North America, demonstrating professionalism and cultural awareness.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills — able to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and consultative abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with on-premises data security products or tools.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator.
  • Prior experience in a SaaS or cybersecurity product environment.
