About the Role

We are seeking a technical Presales Engineer to join our team selling innovative, next-generation enterprise software solutions for mainframe environments. In this role, you will partner with the sales and product teams to engage customers, understand their technical environments, demonstrate Geniez AI’s capabilities, and support installations and proof-of-concepts (POCs) as part of the company’s business growth efforts.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work with at a VC-backed startup company in the mainframe space, alongside experienced industry leaders with proven exit track record. You will be engaging client technical leaders and executives, helping them with their most pressing IT challenges around driving value from AI initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Customer Engagement: Work closely with sales teams to understand customer challenges, technical environments, and business objectives.
• Solution Design: Develop deployment architectures and installation plans for operating our software in customer IT environments.
• Demonstrations & POCs: Lead technical demos, proofs of concept, and pilot installations to showcase the value of our software.
• Installation & Testing: Support customers in the installation, configuration, and testing of our software within their environments.
• Technical Enablement: Provide technical training, documentation, and best practices to customer technical teams.
• Feedback Loop: Collaborate with product management and engineering to relay customer feedback and feature requests.
• RFP Support: Contribute to technical responses for RFPs and RFIs, ensuring accurate representation of our software capabilities.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in an enterprise software technical presales, solution engineering, or systems integration role.
• Hands-on experience with mainframe and enterprise software deployment and troubleshooting in customer environments.
• Strong technical expertise and problem solving skills in mainframe environments including z/OS system-level, DB2, VSAM, JCL, RACF, z/OS UNIX, TCP/IP and Java.
• Understanding of AI technologies and generative AI tools such as LLMs and AI-agents.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
• Experience with hybrid software solutions involving both mainframe and cloud.
• Experience with generative AI tools
