Pre-Sales Technical Engineer – OT Cybersecurity - c€100k + bonus + Stock Options - Remote

Overview:

A global cybersecurity consultancy is seeking a highly skilled Pre-Sales Technical Engineer to support its rapidly expanding OT cybersecurity practice. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role where you’ll guide clients through the technical stages of the sales cycle - from discovery and solution architecture to proof-of-concept deployments and partner enablement.

You’ll work with major industrial and critical-infrastructure organisations across sectors such as energy, manufacturing, and transportation, helping them understand and implement advanced OT visibility, detection, and digital risk-management solutions.

Role & Responsibilities:

Pre-Sales & Solution Design

• Engage with sales teams and customers to assess OT environments, network architectures, risks, and requirements.
• Architect and present tailored cybersecurity solutions addressing visibility, detection, compliance, and risk-management needs.
• Deliver compelling demos, workshops, and technical deep-dive sessions.

POC Delivery & Technical Validation

• Lead end-to-end proof-of-concept deployments, including installation, configuration, tuning, troubleshooting, and success-criteria validation.
• Document findings and provide clear, actionable recommendations to support client decision-making.

Technical Documentation

• Produce technical proposals, SOWs, BOMs, deployment plans, architecture diagrams, and other supporting materials.
• Contribute to reusable internal and partner-facing technical assets.
• Participate in OT network risk assessments.

Partner & Channel Enablement

• Deliver onboarding and training sessions for integrators, distributors, and channel partners.
• Represent the company at industry events, customer workshops, and technical forums.

Essential Skills & Experience:

Experience & Technical Background

• 3+ years in pre-sales engineering, solutions engineering, or similar technical customer-facing roles.
• 3+ years of cybersecurity experience — ideally in network security, SOC analysis, threat detection, or operational security.
• Strong hands-on technical skills, including:
• TCP/IP, Layer 2 & 3 protocols, network design
• Linux system administration
• Virtualisation platforms (VMware, KVM, Hyper-V)
• Familiarity with OT/ICS security frameworks (IEC 62443, NIS2, OG86) is a plus.

• Self-motivated, organised, and comfortable in a scale-up environment.

Preferred

• Experience with ICS/SCADA or OT networking environments.
• Exposure to OT monitoring, visibility, or risk-quantification technologies.
